our why…

My name is Mary, and this is my beautiful family. Me, my husband Joey, and our three beautiful kids. It was as close to perfect as it gets, but in 2019 tragedy struck. My husband, at age 34, was shockingly diagnosed with stage four melanoma cancer. He was gone six months later. I held him close as he went from my arms to the Father’s, and thought my life was over-but that wasn’t possible. I couldn’t give up-I had three shocked and heartbroken babies to go home to that day.

The days, months and years that followed were dark, hard and at times unbearable. I had to learn to provide on my own, use tools I had no knowledge of and with skills I didn’t have. Learn to wrestle with my sons and powerfully protect my daughter. I was alone. I had nowhere to turn, and as I struggled, I determined that I would someday be a voice for my widowed community. They would be forgotten no more, and somehow, I’d find others who cared, who would help.

Thus, the Never Alone Foundation for the widowed was formed. By addressing the unique struggles that come with the loss of a partner, like mine, we aim to empower individuals in their healing journey, offering a safe space for them to rebuild their lives with dignity, hope, and resilience. We hope you will join us, follow along and embrace the stories and challenges that we partner with our widows and widowers to overcome.
